Again, its been a while since I've updated this place, but school/work/gaming/lazy-ness have been more consistant than drawing in general. As the title says, I've finally taken the plunge into make/working with 3-dimensional models. I've got one thing to say from my experience with working with such things.
...Its a pain in the ass to do...
This is coming from a beginner of 3-D modeling. I suppose I have to explain why I just started doing 3-d modeling, and simply put, I want to make stuff for
Oblivion. Yes, thats right, I got it. Finally...
I also worked with 3-D modeling for my high school art class (college art classes are strangly, well, different). I started with Maya. I would like to say, Maya seems to be a big pain to work with than Blender when working with polygons. The help tutorials that comes with Maya, only seem to help with NURBs modeling (which is a great thing to experiment with). Using Blender seems to be aimed toward the new, and upcoming 3-D modeling, as its seems more simpler. Less amount of technical jargon is a plus for me.
Playing around with models for oblivion is interesting, but I've come to a problem, the construction set for Oblivion likes to say "Cannot find NIF file/.dds files" or something along the lines. So personally, I'm a bit peeved about the program's consistancy to not cooperate. Along with doing with plug-ins for Oblivion that want to make me crazy by trying to remove them from the directory of my computer (AFleveling, and wz_inventory plug-ins in particular, personally I didn't like those plug-ins for Oblivion, but a new version may change my mind for both of them).
Other than working with 3-D modeling, nothing much, just have a fair amount of stuff to scan in and post up here so you may see an edit in this journal entry later. Also been thinking about a story for my characters in general but no attempts to actually work on the story yet, but it will happen.
Also... Where is freakin snow at? There hasn't been enough snow to really close a fair number of schools in the western section of Maryland in my opinion.
Well, I suppose that's all for the time being. Now to find a way to waste time until about 3:30PM-ish.
Edit as of 2/1/07 at 9:38PM:
Just scanned in some sketchbook images (12 altogether), and decided to make a wallpaper, so it will be up with another wallpaper I made out of lazy-ness.
